Posted in Uncategorized on April 24th, 2012 by adminYes, of course there is a ton of info out there on g star, and actually that made the selection process of what to include a bit interesting. However, not everybody has the time or inclination to do that, and we know that so many of us are incredibly busy – but still, sometimes you just have to do what is smart. All that is generally recognized by most, but just be careful you do not become lazy about doing additional research to see what else could be important. So just do not allow your self to assume too much or get too comfortable with what you know. The knowledge base on the following subject matter is one thing that can really make a difference with it in your affairs.
There was a time when there was a social stigma attached to shopping for big and tall men’s clothes. The unspoken opinion by many people was that these shoppers were overweight or unpleasant, and that’s why so many men avoided publically buying these clothes.
The good news is that social stigma is pretty much a thing of the past. Perhaps the main reason is that clothing sizes are different now, and what used to be considered a “normal” size a long time ago is now a big and tall size. So the effect is that regular department stores and retailers are now stocking these sizes, and also many designers are doing work in these size categories, as well. We’ll move on to some helpful dressing hints so you’re always looking great.
It’s really best to avoid “flowing” fabrics, but you want to find fabric that breathes. Shirts that have that ‘flowy’ look to them may seem like a good idea to wear. Fabrics of this kind tend to feel good to touch, and they provide for good air circulation. The thing about these fabrics is they tend to make you look much larger than you really are.
The best fabrics are those containing cotton, or a blend. You’ll still have a shirt that can breathe, but these fabrics are stronger and stiffer – so they will serve to contain rather than reveal, or show. Fabrics that contain well is often a better choice for those who are sensitive about their weight.
Be careful about sizes in different stores because sizes really are no longer uniform across the board.
Be mindful about the stores return policies, and try to avoid assuming a size you know you wear will fit. It’ll be helpful to try and remember your measurements because it will just be helpful when you’re in a store and shopping. A good rule of thumb is to begin with one size larger than you think you are. The trick is that if the item is too large, or too small, you’ll know which direction you’ll need to go and it’s just the next size.
Don’t forget about thrift stores. You may find that many of these thrift stores have clothes for big and tall men. This can be a great place to find clothing in your size without being forced to pay specialty retail prices. Sometimes, if you find one close to some affluent part of town, you’ll find high quality clothes that were not worn much at all. You might even consider driving or taking public transit to the thrift stores in pricier neighborhoods because usually the goods found at those stores are in better condition.
There are lots of things to think about when you need to buy big and tall men’s clothing.
You have to think about where you shop, different fabrics and patterns to choose from, sizing differences – a lot of things! Many years ago – people just did not have all the choices and selections that are easily available to you, now. So… get out there, have some fun, and find some great clothes that you’ll look great wearing.
